Sage

Sage

The all-knowing sage, that’s what many people think of, whenever they see the word ‘sage’. But in our case, we are talking about Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium, otherwise known as SAGE. This is one perfectly balanced strain, which makes it a great choice for breeders who need a 50/50 hybrid to use as a parent as they try to create new strains.

As more states and countries open up to the use of marijuana, it also seems that there are more and more strains being created. Purists want to do that because of the benefits it gives. But for the growers and sellers, we all know they intend to create kick-ass strains that could make them loads of money. But that is not a bad thing, though.

Even if there are hundreds of newer strains available, with more coming, SAGE remains one of the best strains for use, not only for recreational purposes but especially for medical benefits.

This balanced hybrid has a high THC value making it potent and not recommended for novice users and beginners. For experienced users, it delivers a great blend of mental and physical high that some may find psychedelic.

SAGE is a balanced hybrid that has the Sativa Haze and the Indica Afghani strains as parents. There is a reason why this strain is quite popular, and that is because of the potent kick it gives, and the affirmation came in the form of receiving several Cannabis Cup awards in the past.

Effects

The effects of SAGE are quick. For most experienced users, it has a persistent buzzing cerebral high with the onset of physical relaxation. Despite the strong mental high, experienced smokers retain mental clarity and focus. Add to that the calming properties of its Indica side on the body, the constant buzzing high, you are going to feel uplifted.

It is also one of the most sought after medical cannabis for its potency in dealing with certain medical conditions without causing one to crash.

SAGE is a happy strain that calms the nerves and makes you feel good. You can use this during day time or night time, and even in parties and other social gathering. Smoke enough and you feel elated. Smoke a little too much and you start to laugh and giggle, but smoking too much, that brings you to a psychedelic high.

Sage also refers an old hermit who lives and meditates alone in some hidden place, so stay within limits unless you want to find yourself locked on a psychedelic high by overusing SAGE.

Fragrance

Naming this hybrid as SAGE, one might think it smells like the popular herb, sage. The truth is that it has a pungent smell with a mix of an earthy and herbal odor of sage.

Flavors

SAGE tastes like how it smells, and that is to say that you should find it delicious. But rather than earthy, it has more of the spicy taste with a lingering hint of citrus or pine.

Adverse Reaction

With all the wonderful effects of the mental and physical high, SAGE does come with some minor inconveniences such as dry mouth and dry eyes. Both are common reactions from the use of cannabis.

More common for new users of cannabis and those who do overuse SAGE, the mental high might become psychedelic. For some, it also comes with a mild headache and dizziness.

Medical

While many cannabis strains have wonderful medical benefits, not a lot has a lower than average sedation. In other words, SAGE is not going to leave you couch-locked, especially for those who are experienced or have higher tolerance levels. Because of its ungodly high level of THC and being well-balanced, the medical benefits it provides works equally for both mental and physical conditions.

SAGE is highly sought for by medical cannabis users for its mental high that helps in the management of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. At the same time, it is also great at helping with the relief from physical aches and pains.

Medical Use

Medical use

This medical cannabis also benefits those who are dealing with episodes of nausea, as well as boost the appetite.

The combination of these medical benefits helps in the high state of relaxation without being lethargic. But for new consumers, SAGE is potent and the fast onset of its effect might feel more psychedelic.

Growing

SAGE can be grown both outdoor and indoor. It has a good tolerance for the fluctuations in temperature and grows up to 5 feet. This plant is a slow grower, though, but during the last weeks during flowering time, the calyxes might double its size. This cannabis is not that easy to grow as it will require some care such as topping off the leaves to allow for more light to reach the flowers that otherwise, might be hidden.

So much of the information you supplied about this strain is incorrect. It’s doesn’t ‘grow up to 5 feet’…it can easily reach 3 meters/9+ feet. It’s known to grow HUGE stems and shoot up everywhere. It’s not a 50/50 hybrid; it’s a mostly sativa strain and users WORLDWIDE report that it’s LARGELY a sativa high. The Afghani is barely noticeable.
And citrus is NOT one of the scent/flavor notes of this strain. I’ve been growing S.A.G.E. for over a decade…I would know.
