We know that cannabis can be used to treat a number of medical conditions like depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. There are a number of medical conditions you can treat with cannabis that you may not have *considered. For instance, did you know that cannabis can be used to treat…
This is only a recent discovery, but it turns out that psoriasis is one of the medical conditions you can treat with cannabis. Psoriasis is a medical condition caused by an autoimmune disorder that leads to the growth of itchy, scaly, and unsightly patches on the skin. This often makes it difficult for sufferers of psoriasis to lead normal lives. Some are even subject to ridicule. THC and CBD can both be used to treat inflammation, one of the causes of psoriasis. Recent studies have shown that cannabis could be effective for conditions caused by inflammation, such as psoriasis.
Multiple Sclerosis, aka MS, is another one of the possible medical conditions you can treat with cannabis. MS is another autoimmune disorder, which attacks the central nervous system. People who suffer from it are often subjected to a lifetime of debilitating muscle spasms. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence stating that cannabis can be used to relieve the debilitating pain caused by MS. More research is needed, however. One doctor even called cannabis a miracle cure for the disease.
Diabetes is not only one of the medical conditions you can treat with cannabis, many are also calling it a cure. A research paper dating back to 2005, showed that cannabis was proficient in stabilizing blood sugar and relieving cramps. Cannabis helps the body maintain homeostasis, which is very important for diabetics.
Cannabis works well for treating muscle spasms, so naturally it is beneficial for people who suffer from medical conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease. Scientists have found that CBD is helpful in treating the areas of the brain affected by the disease, in part because they are surrounded by endocannabinoids. Cannabis can help alleviate the pain caused by Parkinson’s as well. There is no cure, but cannabis could certainly help.
Celiac disease, being another autoimmune disorder is another one of the most surprising medical conditions you can treat with cannabis. The disease does not have a cure. Research and testimonials from patients have shown that cannabis can help lessen some of the symptoms associated with the disease, including rashes and the mental symptoms, like depression and anxiety.
Obviously, cannabis is not a cure for HIV/ AIDS, but since this disease is another autoimmune disorder, cannabis can certainly help with the inflammation that comes with the illness. Medical cannabis in particular, helps with the loss of appetite and nausea that accompanies the illness. A friend of mine with HIV relied on cannabis for years to help not only his symptoms, but the side effects from the medications that he took too.
Cannabis can also be used to treat Crohn’s, a disease of the bowels which is also caused by inflammation. Unfortunately, there is no cure for Crohn’s, but medical cannabis can be used to soothe the debilitating pain that comes with the disease, not to mention help its sufferers find their appetites again.
