While Avi is not to be confused with Avidekel, these unrelated hybrids share one similarity. Their breeders developed them for medical purposes.
Recreational users may not recognize Avidekel. Suffice to say; it was one of the first true high CBD hybrids ever created. Bred by Tikun Olam in the Galilee, it boasts of up to 18% CBD.
LP Peace Naturals Projects, a licensed producer in Canada, may have taken inspiration in naming one of their hybrids, Avi. Its CBD content, though, is not as high. Nonetheless, it contains more than enough to provide a wide array of pain relieving benefits.
While its purpose is solely for medical use, that is not to say that it has no value to recreational users. Far from it, it’s below average THC is what makes it an excellent choice for chilling on a slow afternoon.

Avi contains anywhere from 4% to 6% THC. Hence, it should not come as a surprise to experienced marijuana users accustomed to higher THC strains to feel nothing. In reality, it does induce a subtle psychedelic high. Less experienced users are likely to notice its effects than fans of extremely potent hybrids.
Not only does it take time for the effects of Avi to manifest, but its onset is so gradual that some people do not notice it. But generally, users do tend to experience a clear-headed high.
In most cases, users do not even feel the onset of the Indica traits of Avi. It is not until one deliberately takes notice that its effects become obvious. Subtle, but calming. Some people may feel their limbs seemingly heavier. There is none of the numbing buzz or sedating properties that leaves people lethargic or locked on the couch.
Avi has a somewhat pungent, dank or musky odor. Traces of Skunk is evident which suggests Peace Naturals Projects may have used the legendary strain in developing this strain. Upon grinding the bud, an earthy smell and a sweet berry note become pronounced.
Its smoke is reminiscent of hash with a sweet berry taste. Like its subtle effects, Avi is a pleasure to use as it is easy on the throat and the lungs. During exhale, it leaves a delightful fruity aftertaste.
Because of its low THC content, it is unlikely that using Avi will cause any negative effects. However, that is not to say so with finality. The fact is that when used excessively, some condition may still occur.
On the positive side, these effects are nothing serious and are quite normal with using marijuana such as dry mouth and eyes.
Avi is the quintessential medical strain and the reason for its existence. It belongs to the few hybrids that justify the legalization of marijuana. In other words, the comfort and relief it provides have helped countless people cope with their difficulties.
For decades, activists have cited how marijuana has helped people suffering from chronic illnesses. Avi has more than adequate CBD to be an effective painkiller. Its anti-inflammatory properties, for instance, can soothe aching muscles.
Being an anticonvulsant, Avi may help epileptics by reducing episodes. In fact, the FDA recommends the use of CBD in treating epilepsy. Keep in mind, though, that using the hybrid is not the same as extracted cannabidiol. Any time marijuana is to be used for treatment; it is best to consult a physician.
Avi with all the medical benefits it provides, unfortunately, is not available for cultivating. Peace Naturals Projects, like other licensed producers, has opted to keep it proprietary.
Based on its genetics, the plant likely thrives in temperate to warm environment. Because of its commercial nature, it is also quite possible that indoor cultivation can provide better results than if grown outdoors.
Avi likely has a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks with yields of up to 12 ounces per square meter.
If the plant can survive outdoors, the most likely harvest time would fall in the third to fourth week of October. Each plant may produce up to 12 ounces.
