Eight people have been appointed to an advisory board for medical marijuana. Kim Reynolds—Iowa Governor—did the honors under new Iowa law on Wednesday. The Republican governor had only left one appointment on the medical cannabidiol board. Neither of the positions on the board is paid, nor does any of them require confirmation from the Senate.
The construction of this board was a result of the medical marijuana law passed this summer. The law also allowed the expansion of Iowa’s cannabis oil program. Cannabis oil can now be manufactured within the state.
In addition to that, the new Iowa law allows people to use cannabis oil for a variety of ailments. The board will have the authority to add or remove any particular medical condition that qualifies users or the use. This eight-member board will also be working hand in hand with officials in pursuit to create a contemporary manufacturing system.
Meanwhile, smoking marijuana, vaporizing, consumption via edibles still remains banned under the Iowa law. Here is a list of people appointed to the board.

- Mike McKelvey,
