10 High CBD Strains You Should Try

Reading time: ± 10 minutes

CBD is a huge buzzword in the cannabis world, and for a good reason. Many people find that CBD, or cannabidiol, is helpful for things like depression, anxiety, stress, and chronic pain. CBD derives from cannabis and may be consumed on its own or in marijuana. However, due to the intriguing chemical interaction known as the entourage effect, CBD is more effective when consumed in weed than on its own. In other words, when you combine CBD with other cannabinoids (such as THC), you’ll experience different results.

If you’d like to experience the full potential of the therapeutic effects of CBD, try marijuana strains with a good blend of cannabinoids. Look for strains with low THC levels, so you can really feel the CBD working. The following ten strains are known for their stellar CBD levels, without overwhelming levels of THC to distract you.

    Blueberry CBD

    Blueberry CBD

Blueberry CBD is a beautiful, indica-dominant strain that can make anyone’s day a little better. With a CBD level that’s up to 16% and less than 1% THC, there’s little to no psychoactive effect. Its indica heritage helps those with anxiety and stress relax and let go of their worries for a while. Users report that it provides a euphoric high that leaves them happy and relaxed for hours.

The Blueberry name is well-earned. The bud is strikingly purple, and the taste is sweet, fruity, and just a little tart. The scent is thoroughly blueberry – something even the most casual user will find it pleasant.

    OG Kush
    OG Kush CBD

    OG Kush CBD

OG Kush is an OG strain. Fans of its high THC form should be excited to know that there’s a CBD-dominant strain just for them. With THC levels under 1% and CBD up to 15%, it’s all the great taste and scent of the original strain without the high. Many of the benefits of OG Kush remain, without the inconvenience of being high. That makes it the perfect choice for a morning toke while also potentially helping with everything from ADHD to PTSD and depression.

If you’re a fan of all things citrus, OG Kush might be your favorite strain. The scent is a clean, bright blend of lemony freshness with an undercurrent of pine. The flavor is just as tempting, with lemon, herb, and wood char notes.

    Strawberry Kush CBD

    Strawberry Kush CBD

If you like to start your morning with a breakfast of berries, Strawberry Kush CBD might be a part of your rounded morning routine. On average, CBD levels in this strain can be up to 15%. THC stays below 1%, making it a great start to your morning. It’s great for helping people relax and find a more laid-back state of mind. People with anxiety and stress note that it’s helped them find peace for a while. It’s mellow, calm, and will help you chill out.

The scent puts you in a strawberry field, with herbal, earthy notes and just a hint of sweetness. It’s the flavor that really reminds people of strawberries and just a hint of pine.

    Critical Mass CBD

    Critical Mass CBD

If you’re already a medical marijuana user, you’re probably familiar with Critical Mass. It’s known for helping sufferers of a variety of conditions find symptom relief. This indica-dominant strain has a more balanced THC-CBD ratio, with both coming in between 6% and 9%. If you don’t mind a little head high with your CBD, this strain is a great choice. Be sure to get the CBD strain, however, because there is a relative strain that has significantly more THC.

Critical Mass CBD is a genuinely earthy strain, with hints of sweetness peeking through. The scent is heavy on the earth, with just a touch of honey. However, the taste is where the sweetness shines, with honey, fruit, and cookie flavors making themselves known.

If you’re looking for a killer CBD to THC ratio, ACDC is the first place you should look. It has anywhere from 15:1 to 28:1 CBD-THC ratios, which makes it a perfect choice for new cannabis users. ACDC is a sativa-dominant plant. Most people find that sativa plants are great for energy and focus. This combo of CBD effects and a boost of motivation is great if you’re looking for a little help with symptoms of depression.

ACDC a citrusy-sweet strain. Its very low THC content and appealing taste will help beginners ease into using cannabis.

If you’re looking for something a little different, Harlequin is a sativa-dominant CBD-heavy strain. It has up to 10% CBD, with less than 7% THC on average. The sativa genetics are great for providing users with focus, energy, and creativity. If you’re interested in CBD for a little help getting out of the depression doldrums, Harlequin’s a great choice. Other users say it helps reduce pain and inflammation, so if you’re dealing with chronic soreness, Harlequin can possibly help.

A hit of sweet, herbal Harlequin can be a great way to start the day. The scent is less intense than most sativa strains, so it won’t follow you around all day. However, the taste is spicy and herbal, almost reminiscent of a strong chai. Its earthy undertones many people find appealing.

    <a href=White Widow Strain” class=”wp-image-92360″/>
    White Widow

    White Widow

People who’ve had the chance to visit an Amsterdam coffee house are almost certainly familiar with White Widow. She’s a relaxing, fun strain that is just as helpful medically as it is recreationally. Both the THC and CBD content vary from 6% to 9%. The strain is 60/40 indica/sativa, so it’s the best of both worlds. It has the uplifting, creative effects of sativa, while still helping people with anxiety unwind. It’s an excellent strain for everyday use.

White Widow is a spicy, sometimes pungent strain. There’s a hint of earth and pepper that you’ll notice towards the end. The earthy flavor comes out quickly when you first smoke it. The aftertaste comes out sweet and woody, making it pleasant from start to finish.

When you want just a hint of a buzz, you can look to strains with high CBD and just a hint of THC. Trident, which has 12% CBD concentrations and 6% or less THC, is a solid choice in that respect. The little bit of a head high that results give just a little bit of a boost while the CBD helps you manage pain, stress, or other unpleasant symptoms.

The piney scent is just a little tart, and it’s appealing to most users. The flavor comes through as earthy with piney, woody overtones. Overall, it’s a low-key smoke that can help you handle unpleasant symptoms a little more easily.

Cannabis and hemp are very closely related. In fact, certain strains of cannabis were initially bred as hemp plants. Carmagnola is one of those strains and started out in Italy as an industrial hemp plant. It was chosen due to its incredibly low THC content that averages around 0.3%. Its CBD levels vary from 6% to 9%, depending on growing conditions. However, even at the low end, that’s still a ratio of 20:1 in favor of CBD.

Carmagnola tastes earthy with citrusy overtones. Some people notice a pineapple, tropical scent to go along with the taste. The buds themselves are a bright and vibrant green and are known to get quite large.

    CBD Kush

Looking for something with an even lower THC level? CBD Kush is about as low THC as you can get. With a THC concentration of 0.2% on average, and CBD levels reaching 15%, it’s perfect for therapeutic use as there is no risk of unwanted psychoactive effects. Meanwhile, the high CBD levels can help you relax, boost your appetite, and give you a euphoric escape from symptoms of depression and stress.

This strain has a complex flavor and scent. It’s earthy, pungent, and spicy. If you’re someone who enjoys herbal teas or complex spice combinations, CBD Kush will appeal. The scent is woodsy and reminds many people of the great outdoors.

        1. Thank you for listing the list of strains and for the descriptions for each. I have only tried 3 strains “that I am aware of” and each offered a slightly different high. I hope I can just request a particular strain and have my weed delivery people hook me up. Tops cannabis are the best to work with so I think I’ll have no problems. CBD Kush and White Widow in particular have caught my eye!
