Diesel is one of the most common flavors in weed, and for a good reason. Diesel genetics tend to have high levels of THC and powerfully energetic highs. The gassy citrus smell that comes from a good diesel strain is unmistakable; however, there’s more to different sour diesel strains than that, though.

You can find a wide variety of traits in the diesel family. Many are sativa-dominant, but not all. There are therapeutic strains, fruity options, and savory flavors. From sour cannabis strains to sweet options with just a hint of diesel, one of these strains will be right for you.
Sour Diesel is one of the most sought-after strains and a popular strain to grow. The 60/40 sativa-dominant strain offers a psychedelic, energetic high that will keep you going all day. It’s one of the most intense sour weed strains available. With THC levels up to 20% and a high that just keeps on trucking, Sour Diesel is the perfect strain for diesel lovers everywhere. It’s also the parent of many other diesel strains; in fact, some of the best sour diesel hybrids are descended from it.
Sour Diesel isn’t the easiest strain to grow, but if you start with feminized Sour Diesel seeds, you can make the process a lot easier. This sativa dominant thrives in hot, dry environments. The dryer, the better, because it’s also prone to powdery mildew in humid conditions. If you’re able to provide it a safe and dry indoor space, your plants should be ready for harvest in about 9 to 10 weeks. Look for yields up to 16 ounces per square meter.
Now, if you’re willing to give up some of your yield, there is another option. Sour Diesel Autoflowers are an easy to grow version of the same potent strain. Autoflowers stay small and can be grown indoors, making them suitable for beginners.
