Neville’s Haze Strain

To talk about Neville’s Haze, one has to look at the figure behind it and why he is the so-called King of Cannabis. Of course, we will have more about the mythical-like person in the next section. Meanwhile, this featured strain promises to take users on a wild ride before settling down.

Nevil Schoenmakers is an Australian cannabis cultivator. After moving to Netherlands and cultivating marijuana for personal use, he had a realization. Many of the equatorial cannabis does not grow well in Europe. He then set out to collect strains from everywhere and started breeding hybrids that can grow in the harsher European climate. He was also the one who established “The Seed Bank of Holland” – the world’s first marijuana seed bank.

Among his many creations, many of which dominated the High Times Cannabis Cup was Neville’s Haze. If not for one the genes of Northern Lights No. 5, it would have been a pure Haze strain.

As cannabis connoisseurs know, both the Northern Lights and several of its phenotypes and Haze have been used in producing countless other award winning hybrids.

Not to be outdone, Neville’s Haze itself is also a past winner of the High Times Cannabis Cup. As such, there is a lot of expectation that comes with getting ahold of this strain. The good news is that it never fails to impress.

Used in small amounts, users experience an intense yet clear headed high. With a heightened sense of focus, they remain productive. And if one were to use this hybrid with a group of people, it does not take long before giggling and laughter break out. We can say that Neville’s Haze is ideal for a social gathering between close friends.

But traces of its Northern Lights No. 5 genetics soon also begin to make its presence known. The physical effects do not come with a numbing sedative like properties, yet the physical relaxation it induces is noticeable.

Neville’s Haze exerts its influence over the next two or three hours. As its effects begin to wane, most people at this point will have a severe case of the munchies. By hook or by crook, they have to put something in their mouth. After all, their stomach demands it. Finally, as the cerebral high begins to taper down, many of its users will find themselves drowsy. The strain may not have induced psychedelic effects, but sleeping and dreaming come close.

Neville’s Haze may or may not have a distinct skunky note. But what most people have come to love is the sweet, earthy and flowery blend that is reminiscent of walking in a field of grass with flowers all around. There is no denying that from its aroma alone, it already increases the appetite for using.

Carrying over to its tastes, Neville’s Haze also has a distinct taste of citrusy lemon thrown in the mix. As such, it enhances what is already considered to be one of the better tasting hybrids.

    Adverse Reaction

As good and incredible as its cerebral and body highs are, this strain is not without its adverse effects. Of note is that people who have anxiety issues should never use it. A lot of individuals have reported that Neville’s Haze can increase anxiousness levels.

Such is the case when users decide that the strain is not potent enough after taking a few puffs. In other words, it is when cannabis users overindulge that brings out these unwanted effects.

There are also a few other effects including dry mouth and eyes. Some may also feel a little dizzy. All these are normal and do not pose a long-term harm. However, they can also be annoying for some people. Using only a small amount at a time ensures that these are not experienced.

Because the best trait of this hybrid is to induce a euphoric feeling, it also follows that it can wipe away stress. If there is one medical benefit with the use of this particular strain, then it is in helping people manage their emotion and stress levels.

Neville’s Haze was created, among others reasons, to withstand the cooler climate in Europe. Credit goes to the breeder for sparking a generation of strains that otherwise would not have grown in the more hostile European environment.

Having said that, this strain will thrive outdoor and can grow as tall as 14 feet. It is not the easiest plant to tender to due to it being picky. But the reward for cultivating it is having a bunch of one of the best strains in the world – ever.

Growers have a choice of growing it outdoor, of as most prefer, indoor. For this, expertise is needed in trimming and pruning the plant to encourage a more outward growth. We know indoor environment means there is less room for growth.

      Flowering Time

Neville’s Haze will take its sweet time growing and strengthening itself. Starting the tenth week and the next two or three weeks, it should be ready for the next stage. Under 600W of lighting, each square can have as much as 21 to 23 ounces per square meter.

Only a few people can legally grow cannabis for personal use. So, if they are in an area where they can grow a plant or two in their gardens, they should realize how fortunate they are. The flowering time comes at a later date compared to many other strains. As such, it is important to time the germination of seeds knowing the cannabis cannot tolerate frosts. Each plant can produce up to 28 ounces of buds.
