Jean Guy Strain

Jean Guy is a strain that was bred in Quebec, Canada. That should explain the reason why it has a French name. This is a wonderful strain that can lift your spirit and lets you soar high with euphoria and happiness. It also has a high THC of up to 25%, which means its sedative properties are potent too in that it gives you a physical body high. This is also a strain that is highly popular among medical cannabis users with its high CBD.

Jean Guy was bred by the House of the Great Gardener in Quebec. In most cases, this strain is described as being a phenotype of the White Widow. But there are also assumptions that it is a cross between the White Widow and another undisclosed strain.

Regardless, Jean Guy is a Sativa-dominant strain that quickly gained popularity among those who were able to get their hands on it.

    Adverse Reaction

Expect to experience dry mouth and possibly dry eyes when you use Jean Guy. That is nothing new as all cannabis virtually have that reaction. Where you want to be aware of, is that smoking too much might also give you unwanted experiences such as dizziness and headache. In rare instances, your anxiety level, rather than lowering, might increase.

One of the most sought after strain, Jean Guy is the top choice for those who suffer from fibromyalgia and cancer. While there are other strains with just as high CBD level, this is one of the rare strains that actually works. Aside from fibromyalgia and cancer, this cannabis is useful in dealing with other chronic pains and aches.

Another popular use of this cannabis is dealing with stress. Not only could Jean Guy reduce the stress levels, it also greatly benefits those who are going through a depressive state. As such, it should prove to be beneficial to other mental health conditions that cause anxiety levels to increase.

One other benefit of using Jean Guy is that after the rushing cerebral high, you also feel a boost in energy levels, provided you do not overuse this strain. In some ways, it is like drinking a double shot of espresso to gain a temporary spike in energy level.

Finally, another popular use of Jean Guy is in helping those who have poor appetite. As the effects of this strain subside, you are bound to feel hungry. So, it would be a great idea to have some food nearby.

Jean Guy is not the right cannabis strain to grow for someone who is new to plants and growing. It would require experience as it would require more work and care than other plants. For instance, the grower must be aware and maintain the right pH balance of 6.2 to 6.3, which means measuring or testing tools are also needed. This cannabis does not produce a large yield, but what is produces are immensely potent and rich in flavor.

This cannabis can be grown in outdoor and indoor settings, including in a greenhouse. As for pests and diseases, Jean Guy is resistant so that is a plus and should make the amount of work needed in its care a little easier. One tip on using nutrients is to be sure to use a slightly small amount and gradually increase over time as needed. This is to make sure that the nutrients do not burn the plant.

      Flowering Time

Jean Guy has a flowering period around 70 days, by which time when you harvest, you could have up to 12 ounces per square meter.

As mentioned, Jean Guy does not produce a high yield, so a reasonable expectation should be around 12 ounces per plant when you harvest sometime in the mid part of October.

        1. My husband is Growing this strain for the first time. It looks fantastic and were only in week 4. It is loaded with buds and with 7 weeks to go. The way it looks this plant is hoing to be a very high yielder. I will try to reme to post when we harvest. This plant is short and wide and oh so stocky! It doesnt hardly wiggle when you shake it. It is blowing our minds!

        2. Found Jean Guy easy to clone as it has very strong lateral branches that grown early right from the bottom up, a little difficult to grow as it needs absolute darkness to flower and the trichome didn’t seem to turn amber, this was the first plant i grew to flowering

        3. Jean-Guy is my all time favorite strain to grow.Big buds loaded with resin and smells very pleasant odor.Easy to grow and generous plant.Easy to clone.
