Orange Cookies Strain

Orange Juice and Cookies, anyone? At first glance, it seems innocent enough. But of course, those are for kids. As for us, we have our special treat as well. While kids may end up full and ready to race the world, ours is the kind that makes us happy and appreciative of the world.

On this article, we are taking a closer look at Orange Cookies strain. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of information about this cannabis. Even so, we are taking the bits and pieces of information and put them all together here.

One of the things that make for a great strain, besides its effects, is its fragrance and flavors. To that end, Orange Cookies does not fail. From one of its parent, Orange Juice, it inherited its delightful scent and mouth-watering taste. At the same time, it also inherited its gentle Indica effects.

The breeder, Franchise Genetics, then crossed it with Girl Scout Cookies. From this end, Orange Cookies inherited the intense cerebral and physical high.

As a result of this crossing, Orange Cookies became one of the best-tasting strains that have a nice buzzing high.

    Effects

As mentioned, Orange Cookies delivers a gentle buzz. At its onset, users may feel a slight pressure around their eyes. In moments, they feel uplifted and as a result, also start to feel happy. As the mellow cerebral high continues, they soon may feel elated but remain focused. In fact, most users are also likely to have a lot of ideas flowing in and out. From there, the physical effects start to kick in. Users, at this point, also feel an overwhelming sense of relaxation.

Orange Cookies comes with an average THC. In other words, it delivers the effects but not the kind that causes one to feel lazy or lethargic. It also does not cause psychedelic or narcotic effects. Instead, the physical high of the Indica-dominant strain blends with the mental high smoothly and causes a mellow and balanced high.

    Fragrance

On how Orange Cookies smell, we have a winner here. It has a sweet and spicy hint blended with its earthy smell and then blended with the fruity smell of citrus. As a result, it has one of the best scents for cannabis and one that are sure to attract people.

    Flavors

Orange Cookies does not only come with a great aroma. It also comes with a fantastic taste. While there are many strains in which its flavors are an afterthought, the same cannot be said of this strain. Its flavors are as much a part of the experience as its effects. Combining the tropical and fruity taste of tangy and citrusy orange is, indeed, a treat to look forward to.

    Adverse reactions

Even with its wonderful gentle effects and insane great scent and taste, there are also a few negative reactions with its use. Orange Cookies, like most other strains, can cause users to feel dry mouth and eyes. While these two are common and pretty much something users will have to get used to, there are also other concerns.

For one, it can cause people to feel dizzy. Although it comes with an average potency, one should never underestimate it. Dizziness, if it occurs, should be momentary.

Another concern would be feeling a little paranoid after using. In this case, using lesser than usual may prevent this from happening, or perhaps it would be better to look for another strain.

In some rare instances, Orange Cookies may also lead to headaches. This happens more if the user has not had enough water to stay hydrated. Before and during its use, drinking a lot of water prevents this from happening, as well as makes it easier to deal with dry mouth and eyes.

    Medical

Among its benefits to the medical cannabis users’ community, stress relief is at the top of the list. Because of its ability to alter the mood from negative to positive, it helps in reducing stress. Even for those with depression, it may help in its management.

At the height of its mental and physical high, it is also not uncommon for users to find relief from pains and aches. For that reason, cannabis activist had been pushing for the legalization of marijuana among medical users.

It has also been reported that Orange Cookies may be helpful in dealing with some gastrointestinal problems especially nausea. For some people, they also feel hungry afterward. In this manner, it should be beneficial to those who need help in stimulating their appetite.

      Growing

For all the great things that Orange Cookies can bring to both recreational and medical cannabis users, it is in growing where it can be a problem. Unfortunately, it is not available in seed form. In other words, the only way to grow this strain is to take a clipping from a mature plant. Because finding a person who already as a plant growing, it seems like dreams of growing one may remain a pipe dream.

Nonetheless, if one were to have access and clone it successfully, the best habitat for growing it should be indoor. Under a controlled environment, not only can the flowering time be shortened if using hydroponics, but combining it with Sea of Green (SOG) technique should enhance its growth and yield.

We do not have information on its yield, but our estimate is that is should give around 12 ounces per square meter. It should also be ready for harvest in around 7 to 9 weeks.

        1. I just finished an OC guerilla grow using bag seeds. I let the males tag along so I could obtain some locally-tempered seeds for next time, and got quite a few from eight plants. They got a late start in mid-May, so the plants stayed under five feet, and produced just a couple oz. of 7-level highs (minus seeds) before curing. I’m happy because it is helping a sick friend who says the high is just right for him. Lots of fruity-hashy resin made this first-time adventure one I was happy to fulfill successfully just because some seeds became readily available. The upper midwest humidity, and hot/cold rains make budrot a real hazard. No problemo, as they finished right into an October harvest just before first frost. This strain takes all kinds of weather very well. Loves the sunlight.

        2. My son found a seed in a bud he purchased at a dispensary and was given to me,I planted it outside and it is doing great ,it somehow split on its own and now has two main kolas, buds are looking great and smell fantastic orange cookies soon.nice plant about 4 1/2 feet tall or so

        3. Finishing up my current grow of orange cookies from seeds I found in a gram, can’t find data anywhere but it seems like it is going much longer than 8 weeks. Currently only my second grow so I’m still learning but not sure if it’s time to harvest or not yet. Regardless I will certainly try to retain these genetics by revegging one or two plants after harvest to try and clone from.

        4. Currently growing this Strain i Got a cutting from my best friend who got it from a dood. Very nice bud structure. Im currently at werk 8 Indoor set up looks like it could go up to 10 weeks.

        5. Hey Robert,
Growing orange cookies in Oregon after finding a seed in bud. Starting from seed in an indoor grow and transplanting to outdoor, still early as an outdoor grow in Oregon but we have been having good luck with the outdoor Durban Poison so we thought we’d give it a go. We love the strain in all forms and this is our third time growing. So far it is going well but we have not been able to find much information on the strain or growing. do you have any tips or recommendations?
