What comes to mind when you hear the word Pennywise? For some people, they might think of those who tend to be stingy when it comes to money. But for many who lived through the generation of Stephen King, that word alone strikes a fear in the hearts of even the worst kinds of people.

Pennywise, of course, is the name of the evil dancing clown that has terrorized countless people in their dreams. And this is how Pennywise, the cannabis strain, works. With its extremely high CBD of up to 15%, it terrorizes the chronic pains and anxiety issues to oblivion.

Although this is a predominantly Indica strain, it is unique in the sense that it has a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD. In that regards, it is a pretty well-balanced psychoactive and non-psychoactive strain.

When you have a Harlequin as a parent, then you know the offspring probably has a tendency to joke around. Now, if the other parent is Jack the Ripper, then this offspring’s idea of fun must be to terrorize. For that reason, it is easy to understand now where this strain created by TGA Subcool Seeds, Pennywise, got its name. It may have taken years to develop a high CBD cannabis strain, but they did it and it is here to give you its wonderful medical benefits.

Effects

Surprisingly, Pennywise is only hardcore in name. Once you start taking a few puffs, it starts to gently rush in a cerebral high while uplifting your mood. For most smokers too, it also brings a certain kind of calm that clears your mind and keeps you focused.

Soon, you start to feel the Indica properties of this strain creeping to your body, making you feel relaxed and pleased. Do not underestimate the potency of Pennywise. Even if it doesn’t rush in the physical body high, it intensifies nevertheless, and without you realizing it, you and your couch seemed destined to stay with each other forever. In other words, it has sedative properties that make you unwilling to move away from your couch. What comes next is you start to feel sleepy and might go on to sleep even before the effects of this strain fully wears off.

Inexperienced users may feel a little dizzy with the use of Pennywise. For that reason, this is not the strain you want to start off with if you are new to using cannabis. On some occasions, during the time its effects are wearing off, you might feel hungry.

Fragrance

Pennywise has a sweet and peppery wood aroma with a hint of coffee. As you could imagine, it has an exotic odor that you will find pleasing to smell.

Flavors

As for its taste, it certainly doesn’t have a horrific flavor. On the contrary, it does taste like how it smells, with one difference. Pennywise has a more dominant fruity lemon taste. So, as good as it smells, it tastes even better.

Growing

Here’s a scenario for you. Let’s say you and your neighbor decided to plant Pennywise at the same time. By the time you see the buds, they have to look the same, right? As it turns out, that may not be the case. You see, Pennywise could express itself in one of four phenotypes. Although the structure of the buds and color may not be the same, it is still the same cannabis plant with the same smell, taste, and potency. Pennywise can be grown indoor and outdoor and should be topped off at least once.

Flowering Time

Indoors
It’s kinda creepy growing a clown inside your house. Imagine opening your indoor plant growing tent to see that clown staring back at you. Okay, enough of that nonsense, because by the time this cannabis starts flowering, you know you would soon be harvesting a good yield of 12 to 16 ounces per square meter.

Outdoors
Pennywise thrives outdoor as well. It is a good strain for beginners to grow, especially since it is resistant to mildew. By early to mid-October, you would be harvesting around 16 ounces or more per plant.

Have you ever smoked or grown your own Pennywise? Please let me know what you think about this marijuana strain in the comments below.
