So, what is this mysterious strain?

This particular strain we are referring to is a phenotype of Sensi Star. For the uninitiated, Sensi Star bred by Paradise Seeds is a legend in the world of cannabis and one of the most awarded ones.

Except for the other strains that go by the same name, the phenotype of Sensi Star Ogre is a selected cut. In other words, this is not a strain.

We did describe the Ogre as being elusive, and because of that, it was difficult to find much information at all.

There are other variants out there, all called by the same name too. For instance, some of the more popular strains include crosses between:

  • Short Term Amnesia, Hindu Kush, and Durban Skunk
  • Master Kush and Bubba Kush

To be clear, the cannabis weed we feature on this post is not any of the other strains mentioned, but a phenotype of the highly acclaimed Sensi Star.

Ogre has a mostly mix of an earthly smell of wood and pine, and a hint of sweetness can also be detected. If the aroma of pine is for you, then you are going to love the fragrance of this plant.

A few puffs and you will notice that contrary to its rather earthly smell, it has more of a herbal flavor with a sweet taste of pine.

    Adverse reactions

Ogre is not without some concern in its use. Among them is dry mouth, which any cannabis users are quite familiar with.

Despite its medical use in lowering stress and anxiety, smoking too much may also lead to increased levels of paranoia and anxiousness. This may happen to novice users, or for a few people, this is simply not the right cannabis. While rare, it is good to know this before using, so that it would be easier to recognize the unwanted effects.

A couple of common side effects of using Ogre are dizziness and dry eyes. Both symptoms are rare but it may occur.

Ogre has tremendous medical uses. It is especially popular with people who would like relief from chronic aches and pains. This is one weed that justified the legalization of marijuana in states and nations.

Ogre is better suited to grow indoor than outdoor. It is an easy plant to grow, and the only thing you need to be wary of is to keep it in sunny areas but under a shade. If the climate is cool, then growing it indoors will give you the best it could offer in quality. As it grows, in time, you will see dense dark green buds covered by orange hairs.

      Flowering Time

Ogre grows best indoors in a controlled environment. It is especially suitable for hydroponics. To improve the quality of its yield and shorten the harvest time, it can be grown with Sea of Green (SOG) and Screen of Green (ScrOG) methods. An average yield of 10 ounces per square meter can be increased up to 14 ounces if grown properly.

This plant is easy to grow but outdoors, it does like to be in warmer climate rather than colder. With an expected harvest on the early part of October, expect a yield of around 14 ounces per plant.
